Across the country, we are grieving for last week’s tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut.  Here at The Christi Center, we know that grief can strike unexpectedly and with a magnitude we never could have known.  Our hearts are with all the families who are now walking the difficult grief journey together. We pray that in time, they will be able to draw on the love and compassion of others to help find the strength to go forward.

Our hearts break for community that will bury so many innocent victims this week. Overloading on media coverage doesn’t help with feelings of grief and sadness, and many of us may face questions from our young children that we don’t know how to answer.   The Christi Center is proud to be a member of the National Alliance for Grieving Children and we are grateful to share with you their roundup of resources  on grief during times of community crisis.

Additionally, the U.S. Postal Service has set up a special PO Box for those that would like to send messages of condolence and support.  The Newtown post office will work with community groups to distribute the mail.
