The Christi Center relies on the support of our dedicated volunteers to keep offering free, ongoing support to those in grief. We thank all our volunteers for their “heart” work.
We could not do it without you. The services our volunteers provide are invaluable. A core of about 100 volunteers contribute more than 10,000 hours annually. It is a gift that is impossible to quantify.
The impact to our organization is undeniable. Volunteers provide services that aid every aspect of our organization’s work — from administrative support functions to assisting with grief sessions and events, to maintenance, to learning how to become support group facilitators and actually working with our members. It is an amazing effort and we are deeply grateful for it.

Current volunteer opportunities
Current needs include:
Kids Who Kare Meals— Provide a healthy meal for our Kids as they grieve their losses, and support their families. By providing a meal every 4th Wednesday, you will ensure that the families are able to attend the Kids Who Kare group, without having to worry about hungry bellies and meal times.
A Handy-person – An much-loved and much-used older home like The Christi Center needs periodic maintenance–everything from changing hard-to-reach lightbulbs to installing a security light. If you are handy–we can use you!
Healing Garden at the Christi Center – After the loss of a loved one, people need time to heal. The Healing Garden at the Christi Center was created to provide a space for those who find healing through gardening, and you can help bring calmness and reflection to the healing process.
Join the Healing Garden Team by sharing your time and energy, or donate so that we may grow our garden with flowers, plants, and/or building materials. Read more about the Healing Garden and previous workdays on our blog.
Current needs include a regular volunteer to stop by once or twice a week to ensure the plants are getting the water they need to thrive!
You may also choose to donate materials so that we may grow our garden with flowers, plants, and/or building materials.
Do you have a service group that would like a Healing Garden workday? We have regular maintenance days Spring and Fall.Email us using the form below and let us know if you are interested. Kids welcome!
