Upon receiving the Christi Center Valentine’s Day card, Marlene wrote this:
Thank You for the Valentine’s Day card and this greeting. It felt so good. When my husband and I first met, it was around Feb 1st.. two weeks later he came by my apartment (in Belleville, Illinois. – Scott AFB is about 7 miles from town.) and brought me a beautiful bouquet of pink carnations. No one had ever given me flowers before. I think that is when I fell in love with him.
